Gas price: New way of friendship
At the beginning of January, Kazakhstan and Russia defined a scheme of gas supply to Orenburg. An arrangement was reached on the price and volume of Uzbek gas, to be supplied. Mr. Kiinov gave the following comments on the contract details: "We agreed that the entire gas, to be supplied by Uzbekistan under the appropriate tripartite agreement, will be sold to Gasprom, while the latter will sell gas to us in the south of the country. The gas volumes and price, at which we buy gas from Gasprom in the south, will equate to those of Karachaganak gas, to be supplied by us to KazRosGas in the north for its further processing at the Orenburg GPP". Therefore, Mr. Kiinov announced, "we’ve got a chance to adjust the gas prices". details >>
GPP at Karachaganak
The development of a feasibility study of the gas processing plant construction at Karachaganak is planned to be accomplished in April of this year, KMG President, Uzakbay Karabalin, said. According to him, the feasibility study will be submitted for consideration to the government already in early May of this year. details >>

KMG goes to the shelf
The oil industry workers called the drilling of the first well at Tyub-Karagan in the spring of 2005 a historical moment, when the KazMunayGas National Company became a participant of the large offshore project for the first time and initiated the exploration of subsoil. Three years have passed since that. Despite its minor experience, KMG has decided to start prospecting at the Caspian independently. KMG EP to increase assets
KMG EP will increase crude oil production to 12 million tons in 2008, compared to 10.6 million tons in 2007. The company also plans in 2008 to retain the optimum level of crude oil production at 9.5 million tons at the Embamunaygas and Uzenmunaygas fields.
