The main news of the month is that Serik Burkitbayev, which formerly headed Samgau state national scientific-technology holding, is appointed as new President of KMG. Immediately after the appointment to KMG, Mr. Burkitbayev decided to replace the Heads of two subsidiary companies - KazTransGas and Asian Pipeline, involved in the gigantic gas pipeline project towards China.

Bolat Zhamishev: The time to refuse reject benefits
With the adoption of a new Tax Code, it is supposed that a customs duty for crude oil exports will be introduced to be paid by all subsoil users, including those with the stable tax regime specified in their contracts. Bolat Zhamishev, Minister of Finance of the RK, is telling us about the details of the planned change in taxation.

Exports duties for oil
On May 17, Kazakhstan announced the introduction of the customs tariff for oil exports in the amount of $109.9 per ton, given the world oil price at $715 per ton. At the same time, the exemption from customs tariff will target the oil, exported by the subsoil users, whose contracts assume stable tax environment. According to the governments estimate, the introduction of the customs tariff will allow to ensure stable load of Kazakhstani OPP as well as to increase the revenues to the republican budget for more than $1 billion by the end of the year.
